Detroit born and raised Poet, Songwriter and Indie recording artist,
JLyric is, “Lyricism in Motion!” A Lyrical Poet merging melodic vibrations with metaphoric rhymes, whose thoughts of being a Grammy Award winning recording artist started as a dream at age 9. JLyric began devoting her gifts within the sanctuary walls.
In 2001, JLyric was approached by her minister of music, and asked to be part of a female Gospel group. From that encounter, JLyric began writing songs of inspiration, and her “Floectisim,” emerged. Through the encouragement of a close friend, JLyric recorded her first demo project in 2005, and was introduced to Gospel music producer, Michael Mindingall. After presenting her inventive works to Mindingall, he was remarkably amazed. Mindingall took JLyric on as his Protégé, as he began to direct her creative works.
Broadening her brand, Jlyric was introduced to eight-time, Grammy Award winning producer, Michael J. Powell. That meeting birthed the opportunity to work with the producer of Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, and a host of other great artists and groups. JLyric’s dynamics, blended into an ecstasy of musical hits for new contemporary artist, Lori King and her CD entitled, “Still in Love.”
Flourishing her musical talents, JLyric co-wrote with Gospel artist, Sherri Gladney, on her CD named, “Journey of a Psalmist,” and her voice accompanied other artist crossing several genres over the next nine years. In 2015, JLyric met multi-instrumentalist, Nathan L. Mitchell, and completed JLyric's debut single, entitled "Your Piano." With a kiss on the ebonies and ivories, the exquisite strum of the bass, along with JLyric's sultry alto sound and seductive lyrics, ensued an explosion of indescribable “Floetic” symmetry. The long awaited single, “Your Piano,” is poetic, passionate and provocative.
