C LOUIS ANTHONY DELISE A MUSICAN WITH A TOUCH OF MAGIC....


C Louis Anthony deLise grew up in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He studied jazz drumming as a youngster and taught himself to play the piano by making up tunes and reading through “fake books” at the family spinet. His formal studies in composition and percussion (he pursued a double major) began at Temple University in Philadelphia where he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in composition at the Boyer College of Music and Dance. 









While still an undergraduate, deLise arranged the theme for local Philadelphia CBS Television news program and achieved his first Billboard “Pick Hit.” Records, Arranging, Conducting and Producing: Louis deLise was arranger and conductor for Robert Hazard (writer of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”) and Grammy winners Patti LaBelle and the rock band, Halestorm, in concert performances and recordings. He arranged and conducted two albums for Miss LaBelle: Timeless Journey and her number one hit, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle.








 He was music director for Miss LaBelle’s broadcast appearance at the Kennedy Center for the ten-year commemoration of the 9/11 attacks with President Obama in attendance. His work as songwriter, arranger and producer for Billboard chart records by William DeVaughn, John Gibbs and the J’s are in constant rerelease worldwide.







 Additional songwriting and composing credits include albums and singles on the EMI, Vanguard, Def-Jam, Centaur, and CBS record labels. 




Recent releases include: Songs & Dances (John McMurtery; 2014), To & Fro (Liz de Lise; 2014), Mesmerized (Philly Nouveau; 2014). Releases in 2015 include projects for EM Records (Japan), BBE Records (UK), SoulJazz Records (UK), Z Records (UK) and single projects for Lyz King, Stella Angel, and Bruce McFarland. Presently In-production: April 2016 Albums for Lyz King, Bruce McFarland, Josi Davis and Megan Sanders. Publications: Also a composer of concert music for choirs and instrumentalists, deLise’s music is available in print from Warner Brothers Music, Print Music Source, AOSM and Alry Publications. He is the author of The Contemporary Minstrel: Songwriting, Recording and Making Money with Your Music, a textbook on songwriting
